This week is OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) awareness week and a perfect opportunity for anyone affected to take action to end their OCD for good.
OCD is the label given to a condition in which people experience repetitive thought and/or behaviours. I’ve worked with people who repetitively wash their hands, check locks, check household appliances are switched off, check facebook/e-mails etc or who are obsessed with fears about germs and contamination. Whatever the exact compulsion, the person will feel forced to carry it out over and over and may become anxious or distressed if unable to.
